Philippa Scott · Trauma therapist, birth doula, mother of four, grandmother
The work underneath the work.
Pregnancy, birth and motherhood have a way of bringing up everything we thought we had packed away. Whatever surfaced for you, and whenever it surfaced, this is where it gets resolved rather than managed.
Book an Alignment CallA real conversation about what you're carrying and what would actually help. Not a pitch.
Most women who find this page have already been passed around a bit. A GP for the anxiety, a counsellor for the birth, a course for the parenting, an app for the overwhelm. Everyone holding one slice of you, nobody holding the whole story. And the story is whole. The birth that still visits you at night, the childhood that taught your nervous system its rules, and the mothering you are doing right now are not separate problems. They are one thread.
I have spent more than two decades on both ends of that thread, in the birth room as a doula and in the therapy room as a TRTP trauma therapist, and I hold both here. Which means you do not have to assemble a healing team, or start your story from the beginning with a new stranger every time. One person. All of it. Resolved at the level where it actually lives, in the body and the subconscious, not the bookshelf.
Everything else out there helps you cope. This work resolves. There is a difference, and you can feel it.
TRTP, and where it lives
The Richards Trauma Process is the engine of my deepest work. It is structured therapeutic work that resolves stored trauma at the level of the body and the subconscious, and it is finite: three two hour sessions, a follow up call a month later to make sure everything has settled where it should, and on the occasions a fourth session is needed, it is included at no extra cost. A beginning, a middle and an end. Not years of weekly sessions circling the same ground. And no, you do not have to retell your story in graphic detail for it to work. The process does not require it.
What does this actually look like in a life? It looks like the anxiety that hums under everything, even the good days. The heaviness that flattens colour out of things you know you love. The fear that arrives before the thing it is supposedly about, of birth, of being seen, of getting it wrong. The hypervigilance that never lets you fully sit down in your own life, always scanning, always braced for the next thing, exhausted by a danger that never quite arrives. Panic that comes out of nowhere. Anger that frightens you. The sense of being permanently switched on with no idea where the off button went.
These are so often treated as personality, or as conditions to be managed forever. In my experience they are frequently something else: a nervous system stuck in protection, running rules it wrote a long time ago. And a nervous system that learned those rules can unlearn them. That is what resolution means here. For many women, the work with me is the first time the alarm has actually gone quiet, rather than simply being talked over.
TRTP sits inside the Regulated Mother Method, my signature container, as the first of its three movements: Release, where we resolve the trauma and attachment wounds driving the alarm, then Rewrite and Regulate, where you rebuild your mothering from your own values and become the stable centre of your family. Because resolving the wound and then handing you straight back to your old life half finished was never going to be how I work.
The Method has two pathways. The Foundation Intensive at $1,997, or three payments of $699, holds the complete TRTP process with a month of close 1:1 support, six months of Mum Wise and six months of community around it. The Full Container at $2,997, or three payments of $1,049, adds three months of 1:1 coaching, lifetime access to the Regulated Mother Course Library, and a full year of support. We work out which is right for you on the call, not before it.
Explore the Regulated Mother MethodBirth and the season around it
Birth was my first professional home, and it remains sacred ground here. More than 30 percent of birthing mothers experience their birth as traumatic, and it does not stay neatly in the past. It follows women into their mothering, their next pregnancy, and their sense of themselves. These services meet it directly.
Birth Trauma Therapy
For the birth that still visits you. Whether it was last year or twenty years ago, a birth that left you frightened, unheard or changed deserves resolution, not just time.
Birth Debrief
A held, unhurried space to walk back through what happened, make sense of it with someone who knows birth from the inside, and understand what your body and mind did to get you through.
Birth Fear Release
For fear of birth itself, whether it is your first or the one after the one that hurt. We resolve the fear at its root rather than asking you to breathe your way over the top of it.
Birth After Caesarean Mentoring
Preparation and support for the birth you are hoping for next, with honest information, steady guidance and no agenda except yours.
Antenatal and Postnatal Counselling
Support for anxiety and depression in pregnancy and beyond, from someone who understands that this season can stir the deepest water, and that it can settle again.
Prepare for Parenting
For couples and mothers who want to walk into parenthood with their eyes open and their nervous systems steady, before the patterns get a chance to run the show.
In person on the Sunshine Coast. All TRTP and counselling work available online, anywhere.
Support that stays
Some seasons need a single conversation. Some need a steady hand for a while. Neither requires you to sign your life away, and both come with the same promise: you will not be doing it one handed anymore.
One-off Coaching Call
$257
Sixty focused minutes on the thing that is loudest right now. You bring the tangle, we leave with a thread to pull. Sometimes one real conversation shifts more than a year of wondering.
The I've Got You Retainer
From $197 a month
Ongoing 1:1 support at the level you need it. Steady at $197 a month, Support at $397, and Held at $597 for the seasons when you need someone properly in your corner. We choose the tier together, and it can change as your season does.
A gentle word before you go. If part of you is afraid of what happens if you open all of this, that fear is wise, and it is welcome here. This work happens inside a container, at your pace, and you are never handed back to yourself half finished. TRTP is structured therapeutic work, not magic, and I will always be honest with you about what it can and cannot do. What I can tell you is what I have watched happen, again and again: women who thought they would carry it forever, setting it down.
Not sure which of these is yours?
That is precisely what the Alignment Call is for. Tell me what is happening, and I will tell you honestly what would help, even if the answer is not me. Nothing to prepare, and no need to tidy anything first.
